- These wide-type ball bearings are made with standard bores and O.D. and a single row of balls, but they have the same widths as double-row bearings of corresponding size. The extra width offers a larger support area for shaft and housing contact and added space for the prepacked lubricant. The wide-type, rubber seal bearings are particularly adapted for use in electric motors where they simplify housing design by eliminating auxillary seals.
