Cylindrical Roller Bearings utilize a modified cylindrical roller that provides line contact with the inner and outer ring raceways. They are suitable for high speeds and have a high radial load capacity. The rollers are guided by ribs on either the inner or outer rings. Depending upon the configuration, the bearings may or may not be able to accept any axial loading. The inner and outer rings are separable which may aid in the assembly/disassembly of components. The ‘N’ Type bearings only have shoulders on both sides of the inner ring. This allows the shaft to move axially within the outer ring. This is important for thermal expansion. Stamped steel or machined brass (MY) cages are generally used. These bearings are most commonly used in gearboxes, rolling mills, crushers and pulverizers.
features
Separable components simplify mounting, removal, and can be interchangable in configuration. Long life. Heavy radial load capacity. Not suitable for thrust loads. Accommodates axial expansion and contraction.
